When the apostle Paul stood before the Council in Jerusalem, he declared: “I have lived my life with a perfectly good conscience before God up to this day” – Acts 23:1. Yet, how could Paul make such a claim after watching out for the cloaks of those who stoned Stephen, giving his hearty approval, and later ravaging the church of Christ, dragging off men and women and putting them in prison?

The word “gospel” means “good news.” It is a generic word but has come to be used, almost exclusively, to refer to the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ (Rom. 1:16). Jesus brought that message from Heaven to earth. The message is universal in that it is meant for all mankind. Yet it is very personal in that every human being must learn and accept it on an individual basis, one person at a time.

By (Unknown) A short-tempered man is a fool. It's in the Bible, Ecclesiastes 7:9, Proverbs 19:11, and 16:32. "Don't be quick-tempered — that is being a fool." "A wise man restrains his anger and overlooks insults. This is to his credit." "It is better to be slow-tempered than famous; it is better to have self-control than to control an army."

By Bob Hines Jesus is very clear about those who take marriage vows lightly as if they can be dismissed:

"And I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality and marries another, commits adultery; and whoever marries her who is divorced commits adultery." (Matthew 19:9, NKJV)
