At the beginning of Luke chapter 15, we find the Pharisees and Scribes grumbling about Jesus because He received and even ate with sinners. Jesus, knowing His audience’s differing perspectives and intentions, responds by telling them three parables that display the love of God. The first parable is about a man who lost a sheep and he left all to find what was lost. The second parable is about a woman who lost one coin and did not stop until she found it. The third parable paints a beautiful picture about the love that God has for His children.…

Examine Yourself
2 Corinthians 13:5 Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you? — unless indeed you are disqualified.
We are told in this scripture to examine and test ourselves to see if we really are in the faith. The question I must ask is how do I test myself? How can I know I am in the faith?

I sometimes see T-shirts, bumper stickers, and billboards with the slogan, “Christ is the answer.” But what questions is He the answer to? Consider a few.
How many paths to God are there? Christ is the answer. “I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6).
Does God really love me? Christ is the answer. “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).

Back in Zephaniah, God told the people to sing and shout! Why? Because Jesus was coming. I love that God wanted His people to rejoice, even in their waiting, because what they waited for was absolutely on its way. No, they couldn't see it, but every child born was one child closer to the boy King that would soon change the whole world.

Who is our King? Jesus! The answer is always Jesus! Praise be to God He reigns forever.
