“Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people” (Prov. 14:34). This verse was not written just for the people of Israel and their neighbors in Old Testament times. It was written for all generations of people, of all nations, for all time, until the Lord returns. It was written for us in our nation, right now. The message of this verse is profound. It speaks God's wisdom, and we need to take great care to understand and live by what it says.

By Al Diestelkamp Franklin D. Roosevelt was president of the United States when I was born; But his successor, Harry S. Truman, was the first president that I was old enough to remember. This means that in my lifetime there have been thirteen different men who have held that office; and, if I live though January of next year, it appears that I will live under a fourteenth president.

By Mark White Did you know, ladies, that by the time a mother of three rears her children to age eighteen that she will have put in more than 18,000 hours of child-generated work? That's work you wouldn't have to do if you had no children. It's tiring just to think about it!

By Greg Gwin Mothers' attitudes toward work have changed considerably in recent years. Among mothers with children under age 18, the share saying they would prefer to work full time increased from 20% in 2007 to 32% in 2012 …. The public remains conflicted about what is best for children. Among all adults, only 16% say the ideal situation for a young child is to have a mother who works full time.
