In Acts 17, Luke relates Paul’s visit to the city of Athens. It is interesting to notice, the way in which the people of Athens (especially the philosophers) are described by Luke. As they offered to allow Paul to address them on Mars’ Hill they said to him, “May we know what this new teaching is which you are proclaiming? My oldest daughter recently said to me in a passing comment, “Joy is a choice”. At the time, she stated it so casually, so matter-of-factly, that I nearly missed the weight of it. God has made it possible for me to be new in Christ. "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new" (2 Cor. 5:17).
